BCES SchoolMall
program ongoing
Ballard County Elementary School now is participating in the
year-round SchoolMall program. Principal Phillip
Harned said that this online program helps the school earn cash without having
students selling door-to-door, collecting money or delivering products.
Over 200 merchants, including Sears, Target and WalMart, have
joined together to offer up to 50 percent of sales to the school for shopping
through SchoolMall.
To take part in the program, shoppers may simply go to
www.schoolmall.com and enter “Ballard
County Elementary School” when prompted.
“If you’re going to be doing
any online shopping at all this
year, please check out the vendor list first,” Harned said. “We were surprised
to find big chains like Target, Best Buy and Lowes, as well as specialty stores
like Bass Pro Shop and PetSmart.”
A complete vendor list may be found
here,
or online on the “Merchants” page of SchoolMall. Contributions vary from as
little as 2 percent of a sale up to 50 percent, depending on the merchant.
For more information, please contact Harned at 665-8400, ext. 2201, or email
Phillip.harned@ballard.kyschools.us.
